Infertility causes great personal suffering and distress. Most of this is hidden from the public gaze, and this is why it is still not talked about openly. The reasons for the lack of public support for the infertile couple include: the dismal ignorance about the causes of infertility and its treatment; and the failure of infertile couples to make their problems (and the solutions to them) known to the public, because of their low self-esteem and reluctance to talk about their problems, thus making this a vicious cycle.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels and have no love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move all mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames but have no love, I gain nothing. And now, these three remain. Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

It is with these ideals in mind that LEAF (Learning and Educating About Fertility) Foundation has been conceived.
Mission
Its mission is to provide compassionate and informed help to people experiencing the crisis of infertility; and to increase visibility about infertility issues by public education. LEAF’s goals include: providing in-depth, reliable medical information which encourages people to make informed decisions on options and treatment; encouraging patient self-education resulting in a stronger doctor-patient relationship; and offering emotional support services to reduce anxiety and help restore feelings of control, self-worth and optimism.
Objectives
- To provide fact sheets on every aspect of fertility and infertility to educate the patient so that the couple is aware on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of treatment.
- To create support groups for patient interactions. This helps generate a feeling of “I am not alone" and allows patients to counsel other patients. Infertile couples are socially isolated and emotionally very vulnerable. They need a place where they can get together and talk to people in the same boat as themselves, to help them tide over this crisis in their life. After all, if infertile patients will not look after their own interests, then who will?
- To arrange Care Evenings where patients are exposed to eminent Infertility experts and also former patients who provide information, share experiences and also answer queries regarding the various treatments. This also gives an opportunity to meet the staff at Care IVF and tour the facilities.
- To identify needy patients and provide financial support so that at least the mentally traumatised couple is not financially exhausted either.
- To organise free camps where the primary problem of the patient can be addressed and the patient can be given an idea about the costs involved.
- To promote Infertility Prevention so as to 'nip the disease in the bud'.
- To set up a patient education library which would have books, videos and brochures which would help people educate themselves on infertility.

Members would be subscribing to a fee which would be a nominal amount. We are however grateful to anyone who can help us raise funds through charity in any way. - Donations:
From successful patients and their relatives and friends. We would also appreciate if they help us raise funds through charity in any way. - Free Medicines:
We would appreciate if you could donate your excess medicines to the Foundation so that those could be used for poor patients. - Grants:
We invite grants from other organisations which support healthcare in any form. - Corporate Sponsorships
