How long does it take to complete IVF? When do you normally start the procedure? I mean at what day of menstrual cycle? Do I need any rest after IVF?
I live in the USA and will be in Kolkata for 6 weeks starting 12 to 15 days after my period starts. Can you complete the procedure in 6 weeks? I am coming back after 6 weeks.
The process of IVF ideally starts from Investigating if any other problems exist, besides the specific problem for which IVF is being done. This may take a few days. The actual process of IVF starts with tests and injections, usually from Day 2 of periods. The injections last for about 10 days and the whole process gets wrapped up in another 5 days maximum. You need to rest for 2 days thereafter. Ideally you should stay for about 10 days after that in India.
I am 38 years of old lady & married last 9 years. I have gone through 4 IUI but didn't get success. My husband has a very low sperm motility, I have PCOS. Is it possible for me to get pregnant by ICSI? If yes, please tell me the percentage of success & cost.
If you are 38, husband has poor sperm motility and have failed 4 IUI, ICSI is the RIGHT treatment for you. In any given attempt, it is successful in about 40% patients. Usually in 3 attempts, most patients get pregnant.
hello doctor! I am 35 years old and trying for second child since last two years but unsuccessful.I have gone through many test including HSG and everything is normal. My husbands semen test shows very low sperm count. How could i conceive. Please suggest.
At age 35, it anways may take a little longer to conceive. HSG being normal does not always mean that all is well with the tubes. Tubes being open and tubes being functional are two different things entirely. When you say low sperm count, it is a relative term and does not mean much unless we have numbers.
hi dr.rajeev.I am 25 yrs old.i got married last 4 yrs.i conceive about 2 year of marriage but for some reason i miscarriaged that time.i m still not pregnant.my periods is also very painful.doctors said that i have no any problem.please suggest what to do?
Hi there, you reason for not getting pregnant and suffering a miscarriage could be one and the same. But this is something we can understand only after tests and no I dont't believe the fact that everything is normal. This is usually lack of the right tests. Regarding painful periods, it ould be an infection causing PID or it could be Endometriosis, both needing investigations.
Am 35, mother of 2 and married for 13 years now. My problem is pain during intercourse and during my periods. Have had UTI mild to acute in the past few years. Kindly suggest a precaution to avoid the re-occurance of UTI.
